Do people realise that vegetation is Biologically defined as having life.?

Animals are sentient. We do not (or most of us do not) eat animals that show signs of intelligence such as Horses, Cats, Dogs etc. (The only exception I know of, would be Pigs.) Plants are not sentient. I guarantee you people wouldn't eat a plant that could speak or do cute human tricks...
