Help with confusing situation?

my husband is abusive(not physical) towards me and our 2 kids daughter 8 and son 7 week jan 4 i will have the money to move out but this guy i have known for 15 years or more has been helping me get things together etc..( we are not sleeping together) he is wanting to move in with us and says he will split the bills etc, he wants a relationship and i told him i don't cause im not divorced yet and he was fine with that and said it will be strictly platonic. Would i be doing the right thing letting him move in with me and kids ?
