I'm in college and I had a final that I think I just failed.How much will this affect me in my future? ?

I am having a bad semester.I wanted to drop the course which exam I had today but didn't because to remain as a full time student i needed it.I did really awful in the midterm and likewise in today's final.I got a C for the midterm.How will this affect me later?If I get an F should I just accept it and do better in the future?
