Why do people still believe the pentagon was hit by a cruise missile?

because they claim that a fighter jet was recorded to take of from a ship and people say that a missle hit it but how can i missle hiot it if there is clearly i huge plane on the lawn and they mgiht of known that the pentagon was gonna get hit so they sent a jet to shoot it down and thats what probably happened
